A.A.C.E. American Association of Colombian Engineers

South Florida, USA

Outlook for 2012

Dear Friends and Supporters of the American Association of Colombian Engineers (A.A.C.E.),

2011 was a very busy and challenging year for all in our profession.  Difficult times and a shortfall of work in the industry placed undo stress on all of our members and sponsors.

A.A.C.E. recognizing the need to be cost-effective and to lessen the burden on our contributors and members reduced our events down to successful venues:

  • Technical Traffic Engineering Luncheon at the Hyatt in Coral Gables.
  •  A.A.C.E. 2011 Annual Picnic event in Pembroke Pines.

We were able to continue making a mark for our organization’s 12th year in existence in the Florida engineering community actively supporting the following projects/events:

  • The ASCE Gala at the Sofitel in Miami, FL.
  • FIU Solar Decathlon in Washington, DC.
  • The e-Campaign for Colombia FTA NOW to support South Florida community in passing the USA-Colombian Free Trade Agreement during Summer and Fall of 2011.

A.A.C.E.’s national and international role in the USA-Colombian Trade Community and active participation with the Colombian Chamber of Commerce and The World Trade Center Miami are noteworthy.

We will provide more information and details during the 2012 calendar year!

We are very grateful for the participation of engineers, architects, GC management and SFLA community in our AACE events in 2011!

In 2012 the Social networking will increase with our South Florida partner events and therefore more opportunity to showcase our sponsor's services and products.

We look forward to 2012 with great expectations. We have several activities planned for this year under the direction of the Board with the very valuable support from volunteers and active members.

Some of the events planned for this year are:

  1. 2012 Golf Tournament  in Spring of 2012.
  2. 2012 Technical Luncheon during the summer of 2012.
  3. Our Annual Cocktail in early Fall of 2012.
  4. 2012 FIU Engineering Workshops in Miami/Broward, Florida.
  5. 2012 Holiday Picnic to close the year in December of 2012.

As you can see we will have a busy 2012.  In addition we will hold our elections for the new board term for 2013-2014 during the month of December.   I thank you for extending my roles as President of the association and look forward to fulfilling the role with more passion so as to distinguish our membership, heritage and contribution in the American Engineering community into 2013 and beyond.

I thank you ALL for your support in 2011 and encourage you to renew your membership and for your participation in 2012.

We wish YOU a prosperous Year!
